WiFi

Introduction

Wi-Fi is network technology that uses 2.4 and 5 GHZ radio to provide wireless high-speed internet.  Wi-Fi refers to IEEE 802.11 standards.

wireless technology first started in 1880s , when there were no devices that could automatically connect to a network. Electricity was still a new concept.

1880s, the idea of wireless technology was introduced by Heinrich Hertz.  In 1990s the radio was the first invention to establish wireless communications.

Hertz discovered radio waves and document their transmission and he development a communication system. His work with radio waves leads to his name becoming a unit for measuring frequencies.

Wi-Fi was firstly introduced in 1999 as a wireless local area network (wlan) . product based on Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 standards .

Initially, Wi-Fi was used in place of only the 2.4GHz 802.11b standards.
